You have not spoken to me yet, so here it is up front. I built the thing first, it is finished, and you can look at it before you decide anything.
Before I built anything I went looking for you the way a customer would.
I searched your business name and got HomeStars, Facebook, CertaPro, Student Works and nine other painting companies. Nothing of yours. Not because you are hard to work with, but because there is nothing of yours out there to find.
What I did find was you listed on other people's sites, five of them, and every one puts your competitors on the same page as you.
Your neighbours on Nextdoor already recommend you. That is the hardest part of this and you have done it. It just stops at the edge of the people who have already met you.
You are already listed in five places. None of them are yours.
Every one of those ranks for your name instead of you, and every one of them puts three other painters on the same page as you. A customer who went looking for you has to pick you out of a list of your competitors.
That is a one page sample. It is not the real thing.
It was built to show you what your own site could look like, with your trade, your areas and your number on it. The full build is not one page. It is an About page, a Contact page, a page for every service you offer, and a page for every community you work in, each one written about that place rather than the same text with the name swapped.
That is the part that does the work. A single page can say you paint in Calgary. Twenty pages can say you do cabinet refinishing in Tuscany, and that is what somebody in Tuscany actually types.
The honest answer.
I pick a few local businesses I think I can get more work for, build the first piece properly, and send it. Most people never reply. A couple of them call me. One or two become customers, and that pays for all the ones that did not.
That is the whole business model. If this goes nowhere you keep the site and I have lost an afternoon.
And what would you rather have more of?
On the money, plainly. $297 a month is less than one interior. If it brings you one extra job a month you are well ahead of it. If it brings you none, you cancel, and you keep the domain and the Google profile either way.
